Each lamp has a 5 times longer life which is attributed to the fact that each filament has five (5) supports to resist shock and vibration. Each lamp has a longer, heavier, more expensive coiled tungsten filament which is sturdier, more durable, resists shock and vibration, burns cleaner and longer with less lamp blackening. In addition, there is a brass base on all lamps that resists corrosion and never "freezes" in the socket.
